Information & Communication Technology Centre

 

The Information and Communication Technology Center of Excellence which was fully funded by the ETF started operating in November 2003. It is set up primarily to provide Information Technology services to the North East sub region and the nation at large.

Although some major units of the University were networked during the NUNet project, further expansion of the network to virtually all parts of the University was made as an integral part of the ICTC project.

As a leading university of technology in Nigeria. The Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Bauchi occupies a place of pride as a major player in actualizing Nigeria 's Tecnological blueprint.

In tanned with the well placed expectation, the University established a center of Excellence in Information and communication Technology ICT. The center is equipped with the state of the art ICT gadgets with the primary aim of providing facilities for cutting edge research in science and technology. The center also provides an enabling academic cocoon suitable for academic retreat, capacity building activities through, conferences workshops and seminars etc.

MISSION
The Information and Communication Technology Center of Excellence was set up in 2003 with the major aim of providing facilities for carrying-out high quality research of national and sub- regional significance, development activities, demonstration programmes, trainings and assessment of technologies for information technology and related disciplines for sustainable national development.

VISION
Our vision is for the ATBU Information and Communication Technology Center to be an integral part of the world high technology community in the North East zone, by facilitating mutually beneficial relationships between ATBU and other organizations from industry and government as well as NGOs, non profit and educational institutions. The Center is expected to create value through learning and networking opportunities, offering seminars, conducting research and publishing reports on technology and management topics.
