BRIEF HISTORY OF THE PROGRAMME

The Agricultural Engineering Programme was established in the School of Engineering and Engineering technology of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Univesity, Bauchi in 1998. The programme commenced academic activities in 1998/99 academic session with initial student enrollment of three. Since then the student population has grown from the initial number to a total student population of seventy- three.

VISION OF THE PROGRAMME

Our vision is to attain a status where students are given qualitative practically oriented training, which makes it possible for them to be potential job providers; and a status that provides a conducive environment which makes it possible, through our research endeavours, to provide practical engineering solutions to agricultural activities in our immediate ecology.

MISSION OF THE PROGRAMME

The programme has two main missions that encompasses training and research. The programme trains our young men and women in a vocation (i.e. engineering) which makes it possible for them to partake in enhancing efficiency, ease and productivity in agriculture. the programme also conducts research into various aspects with the aim of finding practicable solutions to problems of agricultural production first in our immediate environment and secondly the entire country.
