Undergraduate Programme

There are three levels of admission into the University which are: 

1.       Direct Entry

Candidates seeking admission into the University by direct entry must have credit passes in the GCE/SSCE or equivalent in a minimum of five subjects at least two of which must be at Advanced level provided no subject is counted at both `O' level and `A' level.  This is in addition to satisfying the University's requirements of English and Mathematics.

2.       UME

Candidates seeking admission into the University through the Joint Matriculation Examination, must in addition to scoring a minimum aggregate marks of 200 in the UME, possess minimum of five credits in ordinary level subjects including English Language and Mathematics.

3.       Remedial Programme

Candidates seeking admission into the Remedial Programme of the University must possess either:

four credits in WASC/GCE/SSC examinations or its equivalent which must include English Language and at least one of which must be in the relevant science area. 

OR

three credits in WASC/GCE/SSC examinations or its equivalent at least two of which must be in the relevant science area.  Only candidates from the catchments area of the University are admitted into the Remedial Programme.


Postgraduate Programme

M.Sc Degree

Courses of study and research leading to Masters degrees may be organized on a full-time or part-time basis by Schools in conjunction with the Postgraduate School and as approved by the University Senate.

Candidates who hold a first degree of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University with first or second class honours may be admitted.  Holders of equivalent qualifications from other institutions as well as holders of any other qualification which together with relevant experience, are deemed fit to those above, are also eligible for admission.
